Bonita Bento Book

I started this food blog was only to look for another activity while I was finishing my thesis back in 2008. One fine day, I was accidentally hooked in Maki’s blog and instantly fell in love with her bento creations. Not long after that, I made my very first bento and got myself tangled with its charm ever since. I made and posted more and more bentos resulting me to change my blog’s name from Bonita’s Cooking Wonderland into Bonita’s Cooking and Bento Wonderland, at that time :). Bentoing is indeed a bundle of fun, it gives me many bento lover friends :D.

I always love to make bento and yes at several times I dreamed to write a bento book; but I only kept it as a dream just like a dream when we are sleeping, since I had no idea how to make it come true and believed that I was not gonna make it - it's too good to be true :D. I had to convince myself that the dream was no longer a dream when a friend of mine contacted and asked me to write a bento book. At first I thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t! Oh yes, I needed to pinch myself. Awww, it hurt meant it was real and I wasn’t dreaming.

Alhamdulillah thank you Allah for this great opportunity. My family, friends, blogging and bento friends, for always loving and supporting me. Mamam K to make my dream come true and Mommy MJ for very very super cute book design, you both are my wonder women *hugs. I dedicate this book for all of you and bento lovers :D. I feel totally blessed to have the experience to write a bento book where I styled and took the pictures by myself. Yes, in my boarding house! I spent my weekends to make bentos and write the book. It never crossed in my mind that I would be able to produce a book from my boarding house (with only that single skillet, mini pan, and wooden spatula LOL :D).

Bonita Bento Book (BBB) is published in Semarang, September 2012, by Kitty Bento. It’s actually like a self-publishing book. My book is sold online by bento online shops; it’s not like the ones you usually find in book stores :D. Why are only online shops? At first, it’s true that we addressed this book only to bento lover community in our country  :). However, it comes with the serial number ISSN 2302-2116 and another set of number below the bar code, I don’t know what to call it ha ha, 9772302211613.

The book is written in Bahasa Indonesia and consists of 92 pages. It comes with 35 character bento inspiration with step-by-step pictures, 24 simple recipes, tips and secret in bentoing, character patterns, and other useful bentoing info. The charaben ideas include decorating rice, noodle, side dishes, snack, fruit, and bread. Here I give you some teasers of BBB :)

The book is now unfortunately out of stock. I know it’s my bad and it’s bad to post for something that is not available. I will update the info if the book is available again :D
